  • The Rosebud Society Inc. - a non-profit organization dedicated to feline rescue and placement. 
  • Shelter Pet Partners - a non-profit organization devoted to rescuing abandoned and unwanted pets from local and outlying animal shelters. They are a volunteer based group, and 100% of proceeds, after costs, go to provide for the animals in their care.
  • FOCAS -  a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization formed to help the lost and abandoned dogs and cats in the three San Diego Department of Animal Services ' shelters.

    Poison Control  - The California Poison Control System (CPCS) is the statewide provider of immediate, free and expert treatment advice and assistance over the telephone in case of exposure to poisonous, hazardous or toxic substances.  Call toll-free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Training, Puppy Classes, Agility etc. - SMRTDOG offers individual hands-on dog behavioral correction and both puppy and advanced dog training classes. Jamie Bozzi, the owner of SMRTDOG, graduated from the San Francisco SPCA Dog Trainer Academy (The "Harvard" of dog training schools.) Training methods are based on positive reinforcement principles. She has benefited from the teachings passed on from several dog behavior experts including Dr. Ian Dunbar, Jean Donaldson and Pat Miller.
  • Pet Loss Support - The compassionate people who staff the Pet Loss Support Hotline understand the emotional attachment people can form with animals of any kind. They are available simply to listen, to help you sort through emotions or questions you may have. They also have supportive materials they can send to you, free of charge.
